Costa del Sol in Spain offers miles of sandy beaches and a fantastic weather. This and the many tourist opportunities that Costa del Sol provides has made it to a classical, appreciated and most popular holiday resort. With more than 320 days of sunshine every year it is a very reliable place to spend your holiday. Nowadays it also boasts with one of the highest concentrations of world class golf courses to the extent that is often called "Costa del Golf". For families you'll have theme and water parks, go-karting, safari parks, and many beautiful public gardens to spend your time at.

Calahonda

In Calahonda you find lots of restaurants, cafeterias and bars. The atmosphere is friendly and the life style more laid back, compared to crowded tourist towns as Torremolinos, Fuengirola och Marbella. Here you find a wide variety of shops, banks, pharmacies, doctors, supermarkets and even Mc Donalds. Instead of walking or drivning there is a unique electric ornamental buggy train, leaving every hour, that takes you around the locality, to shopping streets and towards the beach. Tennis courts, gym and squash-courts is nearby the apartment at Club del Sol.

Calahonda has its own, beautiful marina - Cabopino puerto - where you find many good restaurants and bars, and a dinner in the sunset in this lovely environment is warmly recommended!

There are many sandy beaches to choose from and Cabopino, ca. 3 km away, is one of the best. Cabopino beach has many restaurants, sun chairs and, most importantly, a beach several kilometers in length. Spanish families often spend their sundays here having picnic Calahondas own beach Royal Beach is situated below the smaller commercial centre in Calahonda and the supermarket Lidl.

    Located about 300-400 m from Las Colinas. Very good cooking, good prices and really popular.

  • Villa Paradiso - exclusive restaurant

    Situated beside Nata y Miel. For the fastidious gourmet, fantastic cooking but higher prices. Recommended!

Entertainments & Night clubs

Entertainments and night life in Fuengirola and Marbella

In Fuengirola and Marbella (ca. 15 km away) you'll find plenty of night life and entertainments. Calahonda is situated half-way between these cities and you get there in about 10 minutes with bus. The buses depart 4-5 times per hour.

    Very popular night club in Fuengirola. Mixed people, but mostly of mature years.

Golf courses

Costa del Sol has the highest concentrations of world class golf courses and it suffices to every level and demand.

The golf course La Siesta is situated just below the apartment and is a well-managed 9 hole course. Cabopino Club de Golf S.A. is a modern 18 hole course (par 71) with spectacular views over the sea and Costa del Sol. La Cala Golf include two golf courses - La Cala North (par 73) and La Cala South (par 72). These two golf courses has been designed by the North American architect Cabell B. Robinson and is one of the main attractions among golfers in the area. The Miraflores Driving Range is situated at the top of the Avenida del Golf.

The sights of Costa del sol

The town Nerja with its famous prehistoric caves, white andalusian villages e.g. Mijas Village, winding streets and a variety of bars and bistros in Marbella, the lovely town Ronda who stands on a towering plateau in the mountains of Malaga. Other Costa del Sol resorts are Competa, Frigiliana, Málaga, Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Jerez, Gibraltar and Morocco (ferry service).

Fiestas and Ferias (fairs) can be found all the year round.

For horse lovers you will find South Europe's finest and largest "Hippodrome", 6 km up in the mountains from the town La Cala, with trot, horse-racing and jumping - well worth a visit for the whole family.
